Start preparing now for winter weather

So looks like this Winter Freeze might be an annual event. The good news? We can be fully prepared for it moving forward, and that’ll make all the difference for our families, homes, landscaping, and everything else. See our biggest tips below and take advantage of the next couple days to Prime or pick up what you need. Stay warm and stay safe!

For your house

  • – Insulate your pipes and place covers on water hoses
  • – Drip your faucets
  • – Know where your main water valve is located
  • – Open cabinets to allow heat circulation to your pipes
  • – Fill bathtubs for non-drinking water
  • – Caulk and weather-strip doors
  • – Test/install smoke and CO detectors
  • – Protect landscaping with plant covers (cheap bed sheets work, too)

To have on hand

  • – WATER – (1 gallon per person, per day)
  • – Battery-powered light, space heater, and radio 
  • – Hand and foot warmers, blankets, socks 
  • – Non-perishable foods 
  • – Gas in the car tank 
  • – First aid kit and all your prescriptions stocked 
  • – Extra cash 
  • – Dog/Cat food
