For your house
– Insulate your pipes and place covers on water hoses
– Drip your faucets
– Know where your main water valve is located
– Open cabinets to allow heat circulation to your pipes
– Fill bathtubs for non-drinking water
– Caulk and weather-strip doors
– Test/install smoke and CO detectors
– Protect landscaping with plant covers (cheap bed sheets work, too)
To have on hand
– WATER – (1 gallon per person, per day)
– Battery-powered light, space heater, and radio
– Hand and foot warmers, blankets, socks
– Non-perishable foods
– Gas in the car tank
– First aid kit and all your prescriptions stocked
