The 5,212-acre park sits along the banks of the scenic Pedernales River in Blanco County east of Johnson City. Formerly the Circle Bar Ranch, the area is typical Edwards Plateau terrain. The river awaits those who wish to swim, hike, camp, mountain bike, picnic, bird watch, horseback ride, and more. The river limestone is 300 million years old, and over 150 species of birds have been identified in the park. It’s a great place to take in the serene beauty of central Texas nature.
